Alvarez Artist Series models have hand selected tops that deliver consistently high quality with optimal tonal qualities.  These guitar tops are hand sanded, and have quartersawn braces which encourage more vibration to be distributed throughout the top and helps produce a bigger tone with good low end response.  Dovetail neck joints optimize the transfer of energy between the neck and body.  Alvarez's bi-level rosewood bridge also helps to transfer vibration to the top from the strings, improving tone and resonance.  Real bone nuts and saddles increase sustain and tone.  Premium die-cast tuning machines provide stability and reliability.  In line with more expensive guitars, mother of pearl and abalone inlays define the look of the Alvarez Artist Series guitars.

Not very often do sound and playability meet at this price level, but this Alvarez Artist Series guitar features a great sounding hand sanded solid Sitka spruce top with gloss finish and scalloped bracing, and mahogany back & sides for a warm and pronounced acoustic sound that is impressive for such a reasonable cost.

We set these guitars up here at our shop, so the playability is very, very good.

If you live in an area of the country that has extreme cold/dry or hot/dry temperatures, consider purchasing a humidifier such as the Kyser model shown at the right.  This will provide important moisture during low humidity times when damage can result from lack of moisture.
