State-of-the-art laser etching technology faithfully recreates the intricate design that renowned henna artist Alex Morgan envisioned especially for Luna in these breathtaking
guitars. The instrument's folk styling provides a perfect background that evokes the sensuous lines and curves that make henna body art such a beguiling form of expression. Rich woods and complex tones offer
players a guitar that is as unforgettable in its craft as it is in its artistry.
Regarding the Ancient Art of Henna...Ornamenting the skin with henna is among the world's oldest known art forms. A paste is made from the henna plant (Lawsonia Inermis) and applied to the skin in a wide
array of intricate designs. The ancient cosmetic and healing practice - known as Mehndi - is still widespread among cultures in North Africa, Asia and the Middle East. In today's Western world, there has been a
great resurgence in the use of henna, and Luna's Henna guitars are our tribute to this ancient feminine art form.
Henna Artist Alex Morgan on her artwork for the Henna Paradise: "The pattern I chose for Luna's Paradise guitar is based on the art of Medieval Spain. The culturally rich and diverse period is the only one in which Henna was grown and
used as a cosmetic in Europe. The era also was historically important in development and growing popularity of the guitar."
The body is a folk body size with a satin finish over either a solid Sitka Spruce or solid Cedar top, satin finish Maple back and sides, 25 1/2" scale length with a comfortable Mahogany neck and
Rosewood fingerboard with Luna's "Phases of the Moon" inlays. The Henna Paradise guitar also has a BBand 3-band EQ preamp system with built-in tuner, multi-ply Maple/Rosewood/Maple body bindings, an on-board EQ preamp with built-in tuner. The nut width on this guitar is 1 5/8".
This guitar is 39 1/2" overall with a 14 7/8" x 3 5/8" deep body. This guitar weighs just 5.3 pounds
